A Little Bit About Me

About me:
I’m from a mixed, French/Indo-Pakistani background and have been teaching in state education for just over 20 years. I am currently a Year 6 teacher & Head of KS2 Maths in a London school.

I have included photos taken in the last few months that are a true likeness (I do prefer profiles that also include clear, recent photos) and am often mistaken for being a lot younger.

My hobbies include reading, travel (it’s a cliché but it’s true…38 countries so far), exploring nature, walking/hiking, houseplants, road trips, swimming, spending time with friends & family, eating out, keeping fit, cooking, baking and watching movies (esp old ones for nostalgia!). I’ve also attended many Islamic classes and courses over the years.

I’ve been described as caring, principled & genuine with a good sense of humour and am very loyal to the right person.

I currently live with my mum and am London based. I have one older brother who lives abroad. I’m not looking to relocate abroad or outside the Greater London area at this moment in time (mainly because of my mum) but might consider it in the future.

In terms of religious practice, I pray the five daily prayers (always strive to observe the correct times), fast, give charity, read some Qur’an daily and am generally quite practising (for want of a better term!). Alhamdullilah I was able to to do Hajj in 2008 with my parents and have done Umrah a few times. That said, it’s been over ten years since I last went and I’d love to go again with my husband InshaAllah.

What I Am Looking For
Ideally, I’d love to meet someone with whom I have a deep emotional & spiritual connection. A physical and intellectual connection is important to me too…but without the deeper connection, I believe relationships sooner or later fail.

Looking for someone with some shared interests and the same level of Islamic practice: someone who already prays his 5 daily prayers (in their correct timings), observes the 5 pillars and strives to be conscious of Allah in his daily life. Someone who eats halal, is a non smoker & non drinker. Preferably a fellow cat person…😸

Hoping to meet someone serious about marriage with good character, who is trustworthy & caring, and has the required maturity/commitment to make a marital relationship work. Someone who shares my general outlook and values is important but I am open to growing and learning together as well. Good manners and mutual respect is a must.

To add, I am looking for someone who is open to having a child (God-willing, of course). I have taken steps to ensure the possibility is there (more can be said later). Nothing is certain, but if you’re not interested in trying for a child/having (more) children, I’m not the person for you. This includes the possibility of adoption as I have always wanted to adopt alongside having my own.

I’m not a big fan of endless messaging/texting. However, I’m not comfortable exchanging phone numbers until a few messages have been exchanged first to establish basic compatibility (profiles are not really sufficient).
If the basics are there, I am happy to progress to a phone chat. Willing to meet in person, but only if we genuinely both feel there is enough compatibility worth exploring further. 😊
